Privacy policy
This page explains what TraceTots does with your data. The short version: the tools run in your browser, there is no account and no signup, and the only thing we store is a message if you send one through the contact form.

Who we are
TraceTots is a free online tool at https://tracetots.com. You can reach us through the contact form. We are the data controller for the limited data described below.
What we collect, and what we do not
The tool itself runs entirely in your browser. Anything you type into a calculator, generator, or form on the tool pages stays on your device. It is not sent to us, and we never see it.
The one exception is the contact form. If you choose to send a message, you give us your name, your email address, and the text of your message. We store that in our backend (a Supabase database) so we can read it and reply. That is the only personal data we hold, and only because you typed it and pressed send.
We do not run user accounts. There is no signup, no password, and no login on this site. We do not buy or sell personal data, and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves.
Cookies and third-party services
We keep cookies to a minimum. Some come from services we use to run and measure the site. Here is the full list and what each one is for. There is a short version on the cookie notice page.
Yandex Metrika (analytics)
We use Yandex Metrika to count visits and see which pages people use, so we know what to improve. It sets cookies and records things like the pages you view, your approximate location from your IP, your device and browser type, and how you move through the site. We use it in aggregate. We are not trying to identify you. Yandex acts as a separate data processor and operates under its own privacy terms.
Google AdSense (advertising)
Some pages, such as the download page, may show ads served by Google AdSense. When ads are running, Google and its partners can set cookies and use device identifiers to serve and measure ads, and in some cases to personalize them. You can review how Google uses data from sites that run its ads in Google's own policies, and you can adjust ad settings in your Google account. Where required, ad personalization for visitors in the EEA and UK is gated behind a consent message (see "Your choices and consent" below).
Cloudflare (hosting and security)
The site is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie and process your IP address to deliver pages, protect against attacks, and keep the site online. This is essential to running the site and is not used to track you across other sites.
Cloudflare Turnstile (spam protection)
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans from bots without the usual puzzle. It runs only on the contact page and is there to stop spam submissions.
How we use the data
We use your contact-form message to read it and reply to you. We use analytics to understand traffic and improve the pages. We use advertising, where enabled, to help cover the cost of running a free tool. We use hosting and spam protection to keep the site up and clean.
Legal basis (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, here is our legal basis under the GDPR. We rely on your consent for analytics cookies and for any personalized advertising. We rely on legitimate interest for essential hosting and security and for basic spam protection. We rely on your consent, given by choosing to submit the form, to handle your contact message and reply to it.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, and to have it deleted. If you are in the EEA or UK you can also object to or restrict certain processing and withdraw consent at any time. If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
Since the only personal data we store is what you send through the contact form, the simplest way to use these rights is to send us a message and tell us what you want done. We will action it.
Opting out of cookies and ads
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through the consent banner that appears on your first visit. You can change your mind later by clearing the site's stored choice in your browser, which brings the banner back. You can also block cookies in your browser settings. For interest-based ads specifically, you can opt out through Google's ad settings and through the industry tools at the Network Advertising Initiative and Your Online Choices.
Data retention
We keep contact-form messages only as long as we need them to handle your request, then we delete them during routine cleanups. Analytics data is retained by Yandex under its own retention schedule. Cookies expire on their own schedules, which range from the end of your session to a set number of months, depending on the service.
Children
This is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us a message, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. For anything significant we will make the change visible on the site.
